BOOKING & CANCELLATION Policy

Please read the following carefully. By booking an appointment with Serene Studio you agree to the following terms and conditions. Serene Studio complies with the UK GDPR, the Data protection Act 2018, and the professional standards of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). Serene Studio reserves the right to cancel bookings and end sessions if these terms are breached.

All appointments must be pre-booked (no walk-ins)

Confirmation emails and texts

Booking confirmation is sent via email and text (SMS) for reminders.

Clients will receive an email reminder of their appointment one business day prior to their appointment date. They will also receive a text reminder 24 hours beforehand. However, if Serene Studio is unable to reach the client, please understand that it is the client’s responsibility to remember their appointment dates and times to avoid late arrivals, missed appointments, and the cancellation fee.

Timings and punctuality

Clients should plan to arrive 5 minutes early for their appointment. New clients will have an extra 10-15 minutes built in for an initial, free consultation. Their first treatment will follow this consultation.

Notice Period: Rescheduling or cancelling an appointment

Clients must make every effort to make the appointment. The booking time will have been reserved. When a client decides to cancel an appointment, Serene Studio misses the opportunity to offer the booking to someone else.
I understand that on occasion it may be necessary for a client to reschedule an appointment. As a courtesy, clients are asked to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice. The client can reschedule their booking at any time, however Serene Studio charges the full fee if the client gives less than 24 hours notice to cancel. If a client does not show up for the appointment this will be considered a cancellation with the full amount payable. This allows me to manage my schedule effectively. Thank you for your understanding.

No-Show Policy: Failure to attend the booking will result in a 100% charge.

Late Arrivals: If a client arrives after their scheduled appointment time, the session will still finish at the scheduled end time in consideration of the next client. If a client is over 30 mins late for their appointment, the appointment will be cancelled, and full payment will still be required.

CLIent conduct & Safety

Treatment Suitability and client health.

For safety, clients must disclose medical conditions during consultation. If you have an ongoing condition, please consult your doctor before booking. Some health issues may prevent massage. By booking, you confirm you've discussed suitability with a medical professional and disclosed relevant health or allergy information. Therapists will review and ask health related questions during initial and follow-up visits to check for any contraindications.

Massage therapists do not diagnose illnesses or substitute for medical care; consult your doctor for advice. We cannot treat clients undergoing cancer treatment or those in their first trimester of pregnancy due to insurance and training limits. Please seek specialists certified in oncology or prenatal massage.

Professionalism: Any inappropriate, suggestive, or sexual behavior will result in immediate termination of the session without a refund.

Serene Studio will deny treatment to a client where the therapist perceives their safety is at risk. We have the right to expect a safe working environment.

Personal hygiene
Massage therapy involves the use of touch and oils.

Personal hygiene

Massage therapy involves direct physical contact and the application of oils or lotions to the skin. To ensure a comfortable and respectful experience for both client and therapist, it is important that clients arrives with clean skin free from heavy fragrances or lotions. Maintaining good personal hygiene helps create a pleasant environment and supports the effectiveness of the treatment. Therapists also observe strict hygiene protocols, including clean linens and sanitizing hands before and after each session, to promote safety and wellbeing for all.

For your safety and comfort please ensure minor cuts are covered. If you are feeling unwell, have a contagious illness, or have an active skin infection/rash please reschedule your appointment. We reserve the right to refuse service if a client presents with visible signs of infection.

Age Requirements: All clients must be over 18 and give written consent to any treatment and understand fully what the treatment will involve
Valuables: Serene Studio will not be held responsible for lost or damaged personal items brought to the premises. Before a treatment begins, clients can place their belongings in a box with a lid on the designated table or in their own bag for safekeeping. At no time will the therapist be alone in the treatment room without the client.

Financial & Legal Protections

Payment Terms: A 50% deposit is taken at time of booking and the remainder 50% is paid for at the end of the session
Liability: Serene Studio does not accept liability for injuries or adverse reactions resulting from undisclosed pre-existing health conditions, or from lost personal property during the visit.
Undisclosed Health Conditions: If you do not disclose all medical conditions, injuries, or medications on the initial consultation form, the therapist is not liable for any issues that arise.
Informed Consent: Clients accept the inherent risks of treatment, and Serene Studio is not responsible for injuries if the therapist acts within their trained, professional capacity.

WEBSITE USAGE

Intellectual Property: The content, logos, branding and images on my site is the property of Serene Studio and cannot be used without permission.

Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
